This park is named after ‘Lord Buddha’s’ birthplace and serves as an ideal spot for entertainment. The Lumbini Park was constructed in 1994 as a part of the ‘Buddha Purnima Project’, which was an initiative of the ‘Hyderabad Urban Development Authority’. In order to pay tribute to the late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the Lumbini Park was renamed as ‘T. Anjaiah Lumbini Park’ in 2006. Many of the excellent facilities available at the park include the water cascades, laser show, musical fountain and much more. People, along with their family members visit this amazing park to get away from the chaos of the city and to revel in a fun-filled day filled complete with bustling excitement. One of the most beautiful parks in India, the Lumbini Park, Hyderabad is a hot tourist site for all tourists.

Within the Lumbini Park, there are many avenues for entertainment for adults and children. One of the major attractions in the park is the musical fountain, which gives an opportunity for the children to dance to popular Hindi and Telugu beats along with admiring the visual spectacle. The cascading artificial waterfalls are also a hit among the children who visit the park. The laser show is also one of best features of this park and promises a 3D experience for all. One can also go boating at the nearby Hussain Sagar Lake for a bit of relaxation.

Infrastructure
The Lumbini Park is set on a lush green landscape of around 7.5 acres, adorned with a variety of seasonal flowers, bushes, trees and rocks. Within the park, there is a laser auditorium that is spread over 2.5 acres and can accommodate over 2000 people. Located on the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake, this fun park looks immensely gorgeous and is a picturesque location for anyone who visits here. One of the most unique features of this exquisite park is the large flower bed designed in the shape of a clock, which is situated at the entrance of the park. Right in the centre of the park’s lake is the statue of Lord Buddha. What’s more, this fabulous park is equipped with all the basic requirements to attract and amuse children. Apart from the food outlets and boating facilities, there is sufficient space within the park for the children to enjoy and for families to have a pleasant picnic.

Best Time To Visit
The Lumbini Park is open to the public 6 days a week, except on Monday. The best time to visit this park is between November to February, when the climate is pleasant and cool.

How To Reach

By Road
One can board the ‘APSRTC’ or ‘Andhra Pradesh State Road Transportation Corporation’ buses, which are available from the within the city, to reach Lumbini Park.

By Rail
Lumbini Park is well-connected by rail. You can board the ‘MMTS’ or ‘Multi-Modal Transport System’ trains from within the city to reach the park.

The ‘NTR Memorial Gardens’ is one of the most beautiful gardens in Hyderabad and is located very close to Lumbini Park. One can also visit the ‘Birla Mandir’ nearby, which is dedicated to ‘Lord Venkateshwara’.
